We stayed at the ...

We stayed at the Iroquois for our recent trip in NY. Everything was fine ! The room was very clean, quite with a king size bed. The service and people were nice as well. Nothing bad to say.

For a 10-day stay, ...

For a 10-day stay, we can give the hotel a reliable rating. Friendly service at the front desk, good housekeeping, and very friendly housekeeping staff who were able to accommodate our presence in the room. Nice, thick bathrobes. A nice gift from the hotel on arrival. Bottled water was readily available at the front desk at any time. The hotel's greatest asset is its location, as it's right in the heart of Manhattan but fortunately not in the heart of Times Square. Our room faced the courtyard, and although it overlooked another wall and windows, it was truly quiet. The hotel has two elevators, and they always worked quickly and efficiently. The Lantern's Keep bar is surprisingly nicely designed, with friendly service and good cocktails. Our room was small, and we knew it. However, the bathroom door was poorly placed. It had to be kept closed at all times to function. The rest of the room was okay, although the furniture is old and worn. For such a long stay, we decided that the lack of daylight was another drawback. A dark room is fine for two or three days. The hotel's weakest point (and why we downgraded our rating) was the breakfast. We went for breakfast maybe 4 times in 10 days. The service was terrible, slow, with persistent order errors and a poor selection. Sometimes we even had to wait a very long time just for coffee. When booking the hotel through Booking.com, we were informed that breakfast was available on a grab-and-go basis, which would have been fine for us. Wasting time on such a poor breakfast is pointless. Generally, It's not a four-star experience.
