The President, The Board of Governors, and The Dance Committee of The National Arts Club present The Medal of Honor for Achievement in Dance to Kevin McKenzie Monday, March 25 Black Tie Gala | 6:30 PM Cocktails | 7:30 PM Dinner American Ballet Theatre Artistic Director Kevin McKenzie was one of the leading male dancers of his generation. A true danseur noble, he performed all of the major full-length classics, as well as contemporary works and partnered legendary ballerinas including Natalia Makarova, Martine van Hamel, Cynthia Gregory and Gelsey Kirkland. Now, entering his 27th year as Artistic Director, Mr. McKenzie continues to nurture and develop the stars of today and tomorrow, while overseeing the restaging of classic ballets and guiding America’s National Ballet Company® into the 21st century. Speakers for the evening will be Michael Kaiser, Chairman of the DeVos Institute of Arts Management; Julie Kent, Artistic Director of The Washington Ballet; and Anna Kisselgoff, Former Chief Dance Critic of The New York Times.
