Clint Holmes Celebrates The Jazz of Sammy Davis. Jr From The Copa to BroadwayWednesday Saturday, April 3 6 at 7pm Birdland Theater is proud to present entertainer Clint Holmes, who will celebrate The Jazz of Sammy Davis, Jr., Wednesday through Saturday, April 2 6, with shows at 7pm. The concert will delve into Sammys material from the early nightclub shows, to the Rat Pack days, to Broadway appearances. The concert will include Sammy hits like Ive Gotta Be Me, Hey There, Mr. Bojangles, What Kind of Fool Am I?, and Smile. Sammy Davis was arguably the greatest entertainer ever. He was a member of the Rat Pack, star of Golden Boy and Mr. Wonderful on Broadway, and considered one of the greatest tap dancers in history. In 2004 Clint Holmes was honored with the Sammy Davis, Jr. Foundation Award, by Sammys widow Altovise Davis. Robert Osborne wrote in The Hollywood Reporter, Clint Holmes is the heir apparent to the throne left vacant by Sammy Davis, Jr. On the Jerry Lewis Telethon, Sammy publicly announced I am passing the torch to Greg Hines, Obba Babatunde and Clint Holmes. Although his career spans four decades, Clint Holmes is in the midst of a significant breakthrough. Having spent the last twenty years as one of Vegas's most successful entertainers, he has, over the last several years, achieved tremendous acclaim with solo shows at Caf Carlyle and Birdland in New York City. Holmes burst onto the pop landscape nearly 45 years ago with the million-selling smash Playground in My Mind. His enduring and accomplished career as a recording artist, multidimensional showman and consummate entertainer includes tenure as Joan Rivers sidekick on her late night television program, a stint as musical feature and event correspondent on Entertainment Tonight, and his own Emmy-winning talk/variety show. Along with appearing in marquee musicals across the country, he has written the book, music and lyrics to original shows and cabaret acts. Clint Holmes Celebrates The Jazz o
